It Started With a Broken Bottle

Pocket Pours origin story

The Spill That Started It All

It happened over something small. Ryan was making his coffee one morning, reaching for one of the syrup bottles lined up on top of his fridge, and it slipped. Glass, syrup, and a sticky mess all over the kitchen floor.

Standing there cleaning it up, one question stuck with him: why is a splash of coffee syrup still sold in a giant glass bottle that has to live on your counter? Every other single-serve thing in his kitchen came in a packet. Ketchup. Sugar. Coffee creamer. So why not this?

He looked, and nobody was doing it. As an openly gay, solo founder in Texas with no team and no outside funding, he figured if nobody else was going to build it, he would.

Two Names, One Idea

In August 2023, that idea became BeveragePacketCompany LLC. Ryan filed to trademark two brand names at once, Infused Pours and Pocket Pours, but wasn't confident he'd actually win the rights to Pocket Pours. So the first packets went to market under the Infused Pours name while the trademarks made their way through the system.

Ryan spent months researching packaging, tracking down syrup formulas, and rented out commercial kitchen space just to run the first small batch by hand. He put his own savings into it with no guarantee it would work.

Then Pocket Pours came through. Once the trademark was secured, it became clear that name said exactly what the product was, so that's the brand Ryan built going forward.

Where We Are Now

Pocket Pours has grown steadily since, now working with two syrup suppliers and selling through Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, Sysco, and wholesale partners across the country, all still run by Ryan as a one-person operation out of Carrollton, Texas.

What About Infused Pours?

You may still see the Infused Pours name on some packaging or older listings. That's the name Pocket Pours launched under before winning its own trademark. We're working through the remaining inventory, and that name isn't going away, it's just got a new chapter coming.
